Financial Analyst

Role Overview:

The Financial Analyst will be responsible for analysing financial data, preparing accurate financial statements, and developing MIS reports to support strategic decision-making. The role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in financial modelling and reporting tools.

Key Responsibilities::

  • Financial Statements (FS):

    • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with accounting standards.
    • Ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting.
    • Perform variance analysis between actuals, budgets, and forecasts.
  • Management Information Systems (MIS):

    • Design, develop, and maintain MIS reports for management and stakeholders.
    • Provide insights on financial performance, KPIs, and trends.
    • Automate reporting processes to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting:

    • Assist in preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts.
    • Monitor budget adherence and highlight deviations.
  • Data Analysis & Decision Support:

    • Analyse financial data to identify risks, opportunities, and cost-saving measures.
    • Support business units with financial insights for strategic planning.
  • Compliance & Controls:

    • Ensure adherence to internal controls and regulatory requirements.
    • Support audits by providing necessary documentation and analysis.
  • General Ledger (GL):

    • Manage and reconcile GL accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
    • Post journal entries and maintain proper documentation.
    • Perform monthly and year-end closing activities.
  • Fixed Assets (FA):

    • Maintain fixed asset register and ensure accurate capitalization and depreciation.
    • Conduct periodic asset verification and impairment reviews.
    • Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards for FA.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (MBA or CA preferred).
  • 3–5 years of experience in Audit, financial analysis, financial statement preparation, MIS reporting, GL accounting, and fixed asset management.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, ERP systems (SAP/Oracle), and BI tools (Power BI/Tableau).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Preferred Experience:

  • Exposure to financial modelling and scenario analysis.
  • Experience in automating MIS reports and dashboards.
  • Knowledge of industry-specific financial metrics.
