Motorcycle Technician

JOB PURPOSE

Motorcycle service technicians perform such as repairing engines, performing body repairs, diagnosing mechanical problems, replacing defective parts, checking tire pressure, and adjusting subassemblies

JOB DIMENSIONS

Mechanical abilities, troubleshooting, teamwork, time management, problem-solving, recordkeeping, overall safety and detail orientation. Special training programs by motorcycle manufacturers.

JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Understand customers concern about motorcycle/bike condition on the repair order carefully and diagnose accurately.
• Test drive customer’s vehicle to check customer complaints.
• Refer to Service Advisor if a customer complaint is not clear or seems incorrect.
• Coordinate with workshop and Reception.
• Analyze performances of parts tested to determine deviation from specification.
• Disassembles and examine parts to determine cause of malfunction using hand tools.
• Determine correct parts and tools required for the repairs.
• Inform Control room about service activity to be carried out and parts required.
• Document repairs within a reasonable time and complete details about cause and work activity and parts required.
• Perform complicated repair sequence according to established procedures.
• Follow and abide By all health and safety regulations.
• Ensure maintenance of tools and equipment.
• Ensure clean and organize work area.
• Perform other reasonable activities from time to time.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma / Mechanic or GED certificate along with training in motorbike maintenance

Minimum Experience

• Minimum 3 to 4 years experience in motorcycle mechanic field preferred.
